Specificity for CD9
The CD9 Mouse Anti-Human Monoclonal Antibody (mAb) reacts with human CD9, a 24 kDa member of the tetraspanin family. It is expressed in the alpha-granules of platelets, on eosinophils, basophils, pre-B cells, activated T cells, and neural cell lines. CD9 plays a role in platelet aggregation, aggregation of pre-B cell lines, and the adhesion and migration of pre-B cells and Schwann cells. It is also involved in CD28 independent co-stimulation of T cells in the absence of antigen-presenting cells. Binding of the CD9 Mouse Anti-Human mAb partially cross-blocks binding of the anti-human CD9 mAb MM2/57 clone.
