Specificity for CD3e
The CD3 Hamster Anti-Mouse Monoclonal Antibody (mAb) reacts with mouse CD3e, a 20 kDa subunit of the CD3 T-cell co-receptor. CD3 is made up of four subunits (one gamma chain, one delta chain, and two ε chains), and associates with the TCR and zeta-chain to make up the T cell receptor complex. It is involved in antigen presentation, signal transduction, and T cell activation. CD3 is expressed by thymocytes in a developmentally regulated manner and by all mature T cells. Binding of the CD3 Armenian Hamster Anti-Mouse mAb is commonly used as a phenotypic mouse T cell marker.
