Blog: Interview with Dr. Victor Ambros About miRNAs

How Lin-4 was discovered (miRNAs)

Dr. Victor Ambros - received his Ph.D. from MIT in 1979 and now serves as a Professor of Genetics at Dartmouth Medical School. The goal of the Ambros laboratory is to further the understanding of the genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying the temporal control of development using C. elegans larva as a model. The laboratory also uses Drosophila melanogaster to explore problems in developmental timing and the roles of microRNAs (miRNAs) in animal development. Using genetic approaches they hope to determine the functions of the miRNAs, to identify potential antisense target mRNAs, and to characterize the consequences of their regulatory interactions.Read More
