The mirVana™ miRNA Isolation Kits use a rapid procedure to isolate total RNA, including small RNAs such as microRNA (miRNA), small interfering RNA (siRNA), and small nuclear RNA (snRNA), from tissues and cells. The mirVana™ miRNA Isolation Kit employs organic total RNA extraction followed by purification on a GFF (glass fiber filter) using specialized binding and wash solutions.

The kit effectively recovers all RNA:

RecoverAll™ Total Nucleic Acid Isolation Kit

The kit also provides reagents and a procedure to enrich the population of RNAs that are 200 bases and smaller, which enhances the sensitivity of small RNA detection by solution hybridization, Northern analysis and qRT-PCR. Although the mirVana™ miRNA Isolation Kit efficiently purifies all RNA larger than 10 nt, it also includes procedures for isolating RNA fractions, specifically enriched or depleted in small RNA species.

The mirVana™ PARIS™ Kit provides a unique and versatile procedure that permits quantitative recovery of native protein and all RNA species, including small RNAs such as miRNA, siRNA, snRNA, and snoRNA, from the same sample. The ability to isolate small RNA, total RNA, and protein from the same sample greatly simplifies the correlation of protein levels with mRNA and miRNA or siRNA levels
