Transfect primary cells efficiently
Primary cells have traditionally been difficult to transfect. Lipofectamine® LTX Reagent, when combined with PLUS™ Reagent, solves the problem of transfecting primary cells, including primary neural progenitor cells (Figure 1).

Superior delivery into hard-to-transfect cells
When it comes to achieving high levels of protein expression in RAW264.7 macrophages, Lipofectamine® LTX Reagent outperforms competing transfection reagents (Figure 2)*. Achieving high-level transgene expression in cells that are traditionally refractory to transfection allows you to obtain results that were previously unattainable.

Broad compatibility with cell lines
In addition to being excellent for transfecting primary and difficult-to-transfect cells, Lipofectamine® LTX Reagent provides you with the most versatile approach to transfecting established cells lines, including those that are sensitive to other transfection reagents (Figure 3).
Figure 3: Lipofectamine® LTX Reagent combines high transfection efficiency with low cytotoxicity superior to FuGENE® 6 and FuGENE® HD transfection reagents. Activity/toxicity analysis measures the ratio of peak gene expression to cytotoxicity, with higher ratios indicating optimization of transfection efficiency with low cytotoxicity levels. Ten cell lines were transfected with luciferase-expressing plasmids following recommended protocols for the respective reagents. Cells were analyzed for toxicity using the Vybrant® Cytotoxicity Assay Kit (Cat. no. V23111) and assayed for luciferase expression. The data were normalized to the activity/toxicity ratios for the FuGENE® HD reagent.
