Polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) membrane is ideal for western blotting applications as well as for amino acid analysis and protein sequencing of small amounts of proteins (as little as 10 pmoles). In addition, PVDF membranes can be used stripped and reprobed without a loss of sensitivity or increased background.

While our 0.2 μm PVDF membrane performs well for all of these applications, our high-quality Invitrolon™ PVDF membrane (0.45 µm) is particularly suited for high sensitivity and low background immunoblotting. The Invitrolon™/ Filter Paper Sandwich includes a high-quality PVDF membrane ideal for blotting proteins from E-PAGE™ Gels or similar dimension gels. The major features of the Invitrolon™/Filter PVDF Membrane Paper Sandwich include:

  • High sensitivity and low background blotting
  • Contains no support fabric or detergents
  • Compatible with commonly used transfer conditions and detection methods such as staining,immunodetection, fluorescence, or radiolabeling
