Manipulating cells for downstream applications

Engineering is utilized when reprogramming a somatic cell into an iPSC or other cell type. This can be accomplished through Life Technologies’ non-integrating technologies by viral delivery or episomal plasmids. Once cells have been reprogrammed, genomic editing and manipulation of iPSCs into other cell types allows for the building of cell models to better answer biological questions.
