When Results are Critical, Count On the Qubit® 2.0 Fluorometer
The Qubit® 2.0 Fluorometer is Life Technologies’ second generation fluorometer designed to work seamlessly with our highly specific and sensitive Qubit® DNA, RNA and protein quantitation assays. This next-generation fluorometer is:
- Accurate and selective—fluorescence-based dyes bind to only DNA, RNA or protein
- Easy-to-use—an improved, intuitive touch screen interface
- Save your data—data logging function and USB port
Do you work with precious samples or perform applications for which you have a significant investment in the outcome of the research? In these cases, it’s important to know that how you quantitate your samples can make a big difference in the end results.
What is the Qubit® 2.0 Fluorometer?
The Qubit® 2.0 Fluorometer is the next-generation analytic device that is central to the Qubit™ Fluorometric Quantitation Platform. It was designed with one thing in mind: to help you easily and accurately quantitate your nucleic acid or protein samples so that you don’t waste any sample or time repeating your experiments. The integrated system brings total specificity and exceptional sensitivity to your quantitation experiments.
Who should use the Qubit® 2.0 Fluorometer?
■ Do you use rare or unique samples?
■ Is it hard or expensive to process your sample?
■ Do you have only small quantities of DNA, RNA or protein after extraction?
■ Is the sample going to be used in expensive downstream experiments?
■ Do you own a SOLID® System, a real-time PCR instrument, a Neon™ transfection device or laser capture microdissection equipment?
■ Do you use applications like quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) that require precise measurements?
■ Will you perform transfection or other applications where it may be days or weeks before you get results?
■ Are you doing complex applications or applications that take special skills, like laser capture microdissection?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then the Qubit® 2.0 Fluorometer is for you.
The Qubit™ Fluorometric Quantitation Platform is a revolution in DNA, RNA and protein quantitation for the molecular biology laboratory. Using Qubit™ assays and the Qubit® 2.0 Fluorometer gives you the highest accuracy and sensitivity, leading to better results in downstream experiments. The Qubit® 2.0 Fluorometer is a small, intuitive, and highly analytical device, that has the same high sensitivity, precision, and accuracy as the Qubit® 1.0 Fluorometer. With a more robust design, a more intuitive user interface, and the ability to save and export data, the Qubit® 2.0 Fluorometer can be relied on when results are critical.
An Integrated Everyday Solution
The Qubit® 2.0 Fluorometer is designed to work seamlessly with Qubit™ Assay Kits. Just choose the assay, open the kit, and you're ready to quantitate—all settings and calculations are performed for you.
Qubit™ fluorometric quantitation is not only accurate, fast, and easy to navigate. You can obtain a sample reading in 5 minutes, and you don’t have to worry about thawing, because you can keep the reagents at room temperature and the standards in the refrigerator.
The Qubit® 2.0 Fluorometer has a new robust design complete with a color touch screen user interface that is easy to understand. Navigating through the different options is easier than ever! See the following sample workflow:
|In the initial menu, select the desired assay
||Follow the instructions to enter each standard tube in the required order.
||Measure your sample.
||The Qubit ®2.0 fluorometer can calculate concentrations for you. Just input the volume of sample used and the desired units of concentration.
|Data Logging Function and USB Drive
The Qubit® Fluorometer will save your data for you. You can easily re-name your data points to keep track of your samples, and you can download all data points to your pen drive (downloads a CSV file).
Having a hard time trying to interpret what a 1.6 absorbance ratio means? With Qubit™ technology, it’s not a problem. You only need to measure what you want to measure. In other words, using the Qubit™ Fluorometric Quantitation Platform allows you to truly know what’s in your sample.
