The NCode™ Multi-Species miRNA Microarray V2 has associated GenePix® Array List (GAL) files. The GAL files for the array are tab delimited text files that contain the positions, names, and probe ID’s for probes on the NCode microarray, in tabular format. For version 2 of the microarrays (V2), GAL files are not lot specific, They are available for individual species on the array or as a single GAL file for the entire array. There is one GAL file for the NCode™ Human miRNA Microarray V3.  Most leading microarray software applications, including GenePix® Pro and ScanArray®, can combine the information from the GAL file with the data from the scanned array to generate a results file with all the data for the experiment.

Instructions for Downloading the NCode™ Multi-Species miRNA Microarray V2 Gene List

Last updated: November 17th, 2006

  1. After you have received the microarray pack from Invitrogen, look up the appropriate species GAL files or a complete GAL file for the entire array. If you do not see the GAL file listed, please contact Invitrogen Technical Service in your region.
  2. Click the link to open the GAL file or to save it to a location on your computer. Then follow the instructions provided with your microarray analysis software to combine the GAL file information with your scan data.

The GAL file includes the following identifiers:

  • Blank : Buffer-only control
  • Dye marker : Used to align the array in the scanner (also called “landing light”)
  • Mut1 : Probe with a single-base mismatch for the corresponding miR
  • Mut2 : Probe with a two-base mismatch for the corresponding miR
  • Rev : Probe with the reverse sequence for the corresponding miR
  • Shuf : Probe with a shuffled sequence for the corresponding miR
